Dubbed the Air Max Motif, the shoe is effectively a spiritual successor to the Air Max 1 (AM1) as it borrows many of the same ideas. For example, the mudguard as well as the general profile could easily be mistaken for Hatfield's creation - especially given the right colorway.

Hits of suede and mesh, though, begin to subvert said inspiration, establishing a more dynamic, contemporary feel alongside the shifted eye stays. Even the branding follows suit: the heel features spliced embroidery, the tongue a more minimal display of the model's name, and the Swoosh an opaque outer layer, the latter of which mirrors the sole just underfoot.
